I think we can all agree, that none of us like to be rushed.
Yet the majority of us continue to be rushed or feel rushed which leads to stress, anxiety, bad decisions, and a whole slew of other problems.
So why do we keep saying yes to it?
The only reason so many of us still feel rushed is either because we are allowing someone else to rush us, or we are the one rushing someone else.
As far as I can tell, nothing good comes from rushing. And rushing is a giant red flag there is something else hidden under the surface. Whether that be an ill intention, or unresolved emotional trauma, either way rushing is not the answer.
Imagine for a minute what your life would be like if your days didn’t have the energy of being rushed.
So I encourage you today, as I’ll be doing the same over here myself as well, to become more aware when you feel rushed, to say no when someone else is rushing you, and to pull back on the reins and take a deeper look if you are rushing someone else.
I truly believe this would resolve so much stress, anxiety, and the detrimental effects that occur from decisions that weren’t thoroughly thought through.
How to say no when someone else is rushing you:
Here are a few responses you can use when you feel rushed by someone else ( or even to your own self if you are rushing yourself)
‘I am sorry, but the pace at which you are wanting me to go does not feel right to me, and I have learned nothing good comes from rushing. ‘
‘Please don’t rush me, I do my best work when I am in a calm and relaxed state’
‘This feels rushed to me, is that what you are intending?’
Statements like these do require you to be able to stand up for yourself and put your foot down. Its growth for you if your not used to that, growth for the other person to step back and back down, and a needed thing for our world at large.
Let’s slow the pace down a little, let’s stop cramming so much in and stressing ourselves out, so we all can take a big breath and sigh of relief.
Are you able and willing to implement this right now and moving forward?
If not, what would need to change in order for you to do be able to?
Could that change be implement now?
In love & joy,
Jody
